Computer Sciences Corp (CSC)

Wheeling, WV
Opened: January 2004

The Regional Economic Development Partnership worked cooperatively with the City of Wheeling to attract Computer Sciences Corp. to downtown Wheeling. CSC was awarded the FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) Call Center contract, worth approximately $48 million.

CSC provides support to government agencies in the areas of contact center solutions, secure identification card solutions, information technology solutions, and operations support solutions. The company offers document personalization for government agencies, multi-channel government contact center solutions, and handles government records.

Its information technology solutions comprise systems integration, managed services, full-spectrum security solutions, and mission-specific services and solutions to public sector clients, law enforcement, homeland security, and intelligence communities.

The company was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Richardson, Texas. It has regional offices in Chantilly, Virginia and Corbin, Kentucky. The company also maintains operations centers in Barbourville, Kentucky; Laguna Niguel, California; Lincoln, Nebraska; Mesquite, Texas; St. Albans, Vermont; and Wheeling, West Virginia.

The Wheeling location’s over one hundred full time employees are offered a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical coverage.

Don Rigby, Executive Director of RED, says “The addition of Computer Sciences Corp. builds on the already strong, existing base of back office operations we have in the region. Projects such as this one and Orrick’s Global Operations Center require a strong team effort, and we are pleased to have been able to locate CSC to our region.”
