Team Sledd (Sledd Co) announced the grand opening of their new state-of-the-art, 200,000-square-foot distribution facility in the Elm Grove area of Wheeling, West Virginia. The new facility includes expanded warehouse space, office space and an industry-first, their new Convenience Learning Center named Sleddsmart. This innovative resource is a fully functioning convenience store and is utilized as a product demonstration center and a training facility for retailers and sponsoring manufacturers.
The facility reflects a $15 million in investment in West Virginia’s economy and workforce, made possible by loans from the West Virginia Economic Development Authority and the West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council. “This expansion project is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees and the continued support we have received from our customers and the community, ” said Robert M. Sincavich, President of Team Sledd.
Team Sledd, incorporated in 1937 in Wheeling, has established itself as the preeminent supplier of convenience retail products and services in the six state Mid-Atlantic Region. Since 1995, Team Sledd has grown from annual sales of $88 million per year to sales of $450 million per year. At the same time, they have grown their staff from 88 employees to 225 employees, and expanded the transporation fleet from 14 to 40 vehicles.
